Step-by-step explanation of the microblading technique:

  1. CONSULTATION: The process typically begins with a consultation with a trained and certified PMU artist. During this consultation, you can discuss your goals and expectations, and the artist can assess your natural eyebrows and face shape to determine the most suitable design.
     

  2. NUMBING: Before the procedure begins, a topical numbing cream or gel is applied to the eyebrow area to minimize any discomfort. It usually takes around 20-30 minutes for the numbing agent to take effect.
     

  3. DESIGN: The PMU artist will use a brow pencil to outline and design the desired shape and style of the eyebrows. This is a critical step as it ensures that the client and artist are on the same page regarding the final result.
     

  4. MICROBLADING: Using a specialized handheld tool with fine needles or microblades, the artist creates tiny incisions or strokes in the skin. Pigment is then applied to these strokes, which mimic the appearance of natural eyebrow hairs. The artist works in the direction of the natural hair growth to achieve a realistic look.
     

  5. PIGMENT SELECTION: The artist will carefully select the pigment color that best matches your natural hair color and complements your skin tone. It's important to choose a color that appears natural and blends seamlessly with your existing eyebrows.
     

  6. MULTIPLE PASSES: The technique is typically done in multiple passes to ensure the pigment is properly absorbed by the skin. The artist will build up the color gradually to achieve the desired level of fullness and intensity.
     

  7. WIPING AND INSPECTING: Throughout the process, the artist will wipe away excess pigment and periodically inspect the eyebrows to ensure they are symmetrical and achieving the desired look.
     

  8. HEALING AND AFTERCARE: After the procedure, there is a healing period during which the eyebrows may appear darker and slightly swollen. Proper aftercare instructions will be provided, including avoiding excessive moisture, sunlight, and picking at the treated area. Over the next few weeks, the color will soften and settle into a more natural look.
     

  9. TOUCH-UP: A follow-up appointment, typically around 4-6 weeks after the initial session, is usually recommended to make any necessary adjustments, fill in any areas where pigment didn't take as well, and ensure the final results are satisfactory.
